Thanks for your comments!
Many thanks for the kind and encouraging comments. I'm happy to know that others are enjoying my little designs!
Fob Finish
Thought I would post pictures of the fob I made yesterday for a co-worker - she is planning to use it as a zipper pull. The chart is a free one from www.cross-stitching.com in the Chart Shop. I changed the colors but really liked the chart itself. Today I will finish the other fob I stitched last week for a friend - it just needs to be sewn together and decorated. I'll post pictures tomorrow hopefully, then back to my designing.

Where Stitchers Meet

Where Stitchers Meet pdf This chart is an updated version of one I designed several years ago for my friends at cross stitch camp. It should fit nicely in one of the Tuck Pillows for a fast finish. |
Coffee Break Scissors Fob Pictures
Here are pictures of the finished scissors fob as promised (a day late, however!) You'll be able to see the adjustments I made in the chart after stitching it up. What looks good on screen in the software program doesn't always translate satisfactorily to the actual stitching. I felt like a little wider space around the stitching and the darker color for the wording would be an improvement.

Coffee Break Scissors Fob Stitching Done
I finished the coffee break fob except for the tassel, which I will add tomorrow. I did make a few changes to the original chart and have posted the new one in place of it. I will try to add a photo of the completed fob tomorrow night.

Coffee Break Scissors Fob
Well, setting up this blog has certainly re-kindled my interest in designing and stitching! I've been very busy tweaking some of my old designs as well as charting some new ones to post here in the days ahead. Don't be surprised if you see different versions of a chart as time goes on - I frequently use a chart as a base for a new idea I have for it. For instance, the heart outline I used in Kortney's Hearts, has been the basis of many scissors fob designs as well. I love scissors and love to decorate the ones I collect so expect to see lots of fob designs!
Today's chart is "Coffee Break Scissors Fob." I haven't stitched it yet, I thought I would work on it at lunchtime today. If I decide to change something as I go along, I'll post the changes here.

Kortney's Hearts Part 1
For larger view, click image.
These hearts were designed to show support for a co-worker diagnosed with Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma in 2005. She is now cancer free but it was a rough ride. Several ladies in the office stitched up a bunch of them for family and friends to wear during that time. I designed them for fabric, but we decided to stitch them on white perforated plastic for quicker assembly as pins since we were making lots of them. That called for a different "G" than the original design, so I have added the adaptation for it to the chart. Other names can easily be substituted for your own use.
